For the last several months, we were conducting a campaign to switch the default PHP interpreter on our servers to PHP 5.3. This has been quite a challenging task, given the incompatibilities between PHP 5.2 and 5.3, and our goal to perform such updates without affecting customer sites. The campaign is complete, and now all our servers run PHP 5.3 as default PHP interpreter, while PHP 5.2 is still available.

We will continue our efforts to provide to our customers the most recent technologies available, without compromising the stability and security of our service. Also, we will continue to enforce a policy that any such upgrades should have minimal impact on customer services.

For the past months, our engineers were working on a substantial upgrade of the disk systems on our servers. As of today, besides the RAID6 disk array, all our servers have solid state disks (SSD) as well. The I/O operations are balanced between the SSD and the RAID array, and most intensive operations run on the SSD. This significantly improves the overall system performance, and we believe that this brings the level of our hosting services even higher.

Today our new hosting Control Panel (v.2) has been officially released. It was in "beta" status for the past three months, allowing customers willing to act as beta-testers to get to know it, test it extensively, and supply feedback. The v.2 version of our hosting Control Panel comes with new design, better usability options, as well as new features. Our Software team will continue working on its improvement.

In the last several weeks, we were performing an upgrade of the MySQL5 server to version 5.1. The servers were upgraded in batches to avoid any possible problems and to be able to provide extensive support to customers with possible incompatibility issues. Now all our servers run MySQL 5.1, which is the latest stable MySQL version, and its availability goes the furthest into the future according to the MySQL lifecycle calendar.

Today we increased the resources of Business plan accounts as follows:

Disk space: From 20 000 MB to 50 000 MB
Monthly traffic: From 200 GB to 500 GB

All existing Business plan accounts were upgraded to match the new resources. This increase will give our Business plan users more options for the development of their sites.

Being too busy in our work, we did not notice that back on May 15th, the domains hosted on our servers reached 100 000. We are proud to announce this now, as such a number of hosted domains is a milestone in the history of every hosting company.

In the last months, our Software Team was working on the development of an online site building tool. Following many customer requests and our policy to offer mostly in-house developed software, the members of our Software Team spent their time to perform a proper research and to have the tool developed in a way, in which we believe it would be of use for most customers.

As a result, our online site building software is already in production on our servers.

The site builder allows an easy creation of a site, starting from a predefined template, setting the site navigation, and editing each page under the site navigation with a WYSIWYG editor. Also, there is a number of widgets available in the site builder, which allow the addition of dynamic components. Over 15 site templates are already available, and we plan to add more regularly.

Using our site builder, you can build your site easily, without any special knowledge of HTML or scripting languages. The site builder itself and all its templates are available for our hosting customers exclusively.

Yesterday, the number of domains hosted on our servers reached 95 000. We see the steady increase of our customers as a sure sign that we have been doing our job as well as we can.
